DeckExpert.com was begun by Bill Leys in 2007, out of an idea that information is power. I wanted to bring relevant information to consumers, contractors, architects, builders and anyone interested in building and waterproofing decks.

I’ve done that and more, leading the way by promoting the deck waterproofing trade, highlighting the many advantages of walking deck systems and teaching and preaching why we must use best practices for waterproofing decks and how to do so.

Bill continues today as a powerful force in the industry, promoting walking deck systems, advocating for changes in construction practices, consulting and inspecting decks all over California.
